The Business Building is an academic facility located on the campus of the College of Business Administration. It houses academic departments that deal with management, accounting, marketing, and finance. These academic departments have a combined student body of more than two thousand. They are also located in the Faculty of Business Office of Placement Services. The Curris Business Building is home to the University’s Office of the Vice President for Research and International Affairs. It houses the Dean’s office and various computer services.

The Business Building was constructed at a cost of $10.2 million and was scheduled to open in July 1990. Construction was completed on March 2, 1989. The “topping-off” ceremony was held on March 2, 1989. It is a tradition that uses an evergreen tree to symbolize strength. The Business Development office of the College of Business and Industry praised the Business Building for its modern design. The architectural style of the new building was designed by Leland Thomson, a former professor at the University. He noted that he would have preferred red brick walls with limestone trim for the building’s exterior.

The Smeal Business Building is the largest academic building on campus. It contains a 150-seat Auditorium, six Smeal classrooms, four specialized research labs, and one general purpose computer lab. The Atrium and Foyer areas are spacious, and an outdoor courtyard is ideal for events. The building also includes several executive education classrooms and a breakout room. It has the capabilities of hosting multiple events at the same time, and it is the largest of its kind on campus.
